Welcome to the website of Northney Farm, Hayling Island - 520 acres of good agricultural soil and coastal grazing marshes and home to a herd of pedigree Ayrshire cows.
Three decades ago Northney Farm employed thirty or more workers, most of whom lived locally, so news and information about the work of the farm naturally filtered down through the community. Now, with just two full-time non-family employees and a village population much changed, the work of the farm often goes unnoticed or misunderstood.
We've made a few changes to the website to make it all a bit more interactive so we hope you like it. Please contact us if you have any comments or other ideas for the site. |

Open Farm Sunday On Sunday 7th June 2009, hundreds of farmers across the country opened their gates to the public. Open Farm Sunday, organised by LEAF (Linking Environment And Farming), offers a fantastic opportunity for everyone, young and old, to enjoy the living, vibrant countryside. Northney Farm opened its gates to the public and amazingly about 700 people took the opportunity to have tractor and trailer rides, see the cows being milked, feed the calves, sample our home-made icecream and much more. Look out for the opening date next year. |
